Sanya is a city in southern Hainan province of China. Billed as “China’s Hawaii”, Sanya has long stretches of beach, water sports such as snorkeling and jet-skiing, rainforest hiking, and hotels ranging from zero to five stars. As of 2006, it has a population of 536,000. Sanya is the second most populor city of Hainan island. It is renowned for its tropical climate and has emerged as a popular tourist destination.
